The Central Penn College Chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society recently inducted its newest members in a ceremony held at the Capital Blue Cross Theatre. Students can join the society by earning a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and successfully completing 12 credits at Central Penn. Congratulations to these 22 students!

Congratulations to 22 students--from Central Penn College's Lancaster Center--who recently received their Allied Health pins at a ceremony in Lancaster. The well-attended ceremony signaled the successful completion of the academic portion of the Allied Health degrees for 17 Physical Therapist Assistant students and five Medical Assisting Diploma students.

More than 70 Allied Health students recently gathered at Central Penn College's Conference Center to celebrate the completion of the academic portion of their programs. These students will next move on to internships in their field, putting into use all the hands-on, experierential learning they gained over the past 18 months.

Fall term scholarships awarded by Central Penn College Education Foundation

During the current fall term, 116 Central Penn College students were awarded $110,000 in scholarships by the college's Education Foundation. "For nearly two decades, the Education Foundation has been making a difference in the lives of our students by helping make college more affordable," said Sandy Box, director of the nonprofit organization. "Over the last 18 months, our mission has never been more critical, as our students continued to pursue their dreams in the midst of a global pandemic." During the previous academic year (2020-2021), the Foundation awarded $267,750 to 315 Central Penn students. Students can apply for scholarships in August and February; awards are then given in the fall and spring terms, respectively.

Three Central Penn College student-athletes were recently recognized by United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for their performance on and off the baseball diamond. Infielder Zach Boyer, first baseman Jeffery Elicker and pitcher/outfielder Ryan Stevens all received National All-Academic Award honors from the USCAA. Congratulations to these student-athletes!

Central Penn College students inducted into Gamma Beta Phi

On Saturday, May 8, the Central Penn Chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society inducted their newest members in a virtual ceremony. Conducting the ceremonies via Zoom were club officers Crystal Rinker, Leslie Heimbaugh and Cierra DeWalt. Students can join the society by earning a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and successfully completing 12 credits at Central Penn. Club advisors are Adrienne Thoman and Lucy Hunsberger. Gamma Beta Phi has chapters all across the United States. It regularly inducts thousands of academically excellent students who share its mission of promoting education and providing community service to their colleges and communities. The society has made a major impact all across America.

Commencement 2021

Central Penn College celebrated its 139th commencement in a virtual ceremony on Saturday, June 12, at 1 p.m. More than 300 students graduated during the 2020-2021 academic year from the Summerdale-based institution. Commencement Speaker Major Kristal Turner-Childs--Acting Deputy Commissioner of Staff, Pennsylvania State Police--talked about the power of persistence in the face of adversity and setbacks. Her message to graduates was a powerful one: "NO doesn't mean NEVER!" "Graduates, this is your moment Go out and create your own opportunity," said Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, president of Central Penn College.

Spring Term Scholarships Awarded by Central Penn College Education Foundation

During the current spring term, 135 Central Penn College students were awarded $116,000 in scholarships by the college's Education Foundation. "For the past 17 years, the Education Foundation has been making a difference in the lives of our students by helping make college more affordable," said Sandy Box, director of the nonprofit organization. "Over the last 12 months, our mission has never been more critical, as our students continued to pursue their dreams in the midst of a global pandemic." During the previous academic year (2019-2020), the Foundation awarded $243,000 to 288 Central Penn students. Students can apply for scholarships in August and February; awards are then given in the fall and spring terms, respectively.
