Central Penn College Accounting Student Receives 2022 Pennsylvania CPA Foundation Scholarship

Hassani Hussein Karemera was one of only 83 students statewide to be awarded a $3,000 Pennsylvania CPA Foundation scholarship as part of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). Karamera is a first-generation college student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting at Central Penn College in Summerdale, Pa. He is very involved in campus activities and is a member of the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society.

Fall term scholarships awarded by Central Penn College Education Foundation

During the current fall term, 116 Central Penn College students were awarded $110,000 in scholarships by the college's Education Foundation. "For nearly two decades, the Education Foundation has been making a difference in the lives of our students by helping make college more affordable," said Sandy Box, director of the nonprofit organization. "Over the last 18 months, our mission has never been more critical, as our students continued to pursue their dreams in the midst of a global pandemic." During the previous academic year (2020-2021), the Foundation awarded $267,750 to 315 Central Penn students. Students can apply for scholarships in August and February; awards are then given in the fall and spring terms, respectively.

Spring Term Scholarships Awarded by Central Penn College Education Foundation

During the current spring term, 135 Central Penn College students were awarded $116,000 in scholarships by the college's Education Foundation. "For the past 17 years, the Education Foundation has been making a difference in the lives of our students by helping make college more affordable," said Sandy Box, director of the nonprofit organization. "Over the last 12 months, our mission has never been more critical, as our students continued to pursue their dreams in the midst of a global pandemic." During the previous academic year (2019-2020), the Foundation awarded $243,000 to 288 Central Penn students. Students can apply for scholarships in August and February; awards are then given in the fall and spring terms, respectively.

Central Penn College Education Foundation scholarships awarded

During the fall 2020 term, 152 Central Penn College students were awarded $135,000 in scholarships by the Central Penn College Education Foundation! "We are committed to making a difference in the lives of our students," said Sandy Box, director of the Education Foundation. "These scholarships can be true game-changers. For many of our students, these awards can mean the difference between staying and finishing their degree or leaving due to financial concerns." During the 2019-2020 academic year, the Foundation awarded $243,000 to 288 Central Penn students. Students can apply for scholarships in August and February; awards are then given in the fall and spring terms, respectively.

2019-2020 Scholarships

During the 2019-2020 academic year, the nonprofit Education Foundation awarded more $243,000 to 288 Central Penn College students. The Central Penn College Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to raise funds to support Central Penn College students through scholarships. Since being founded in 2004, the Education Foundation has distributed more than $2 million in scholarships to over 2,300 students.

Utz Family Scholarship Winners

The Utz Family 3 E's Scholarship was recently awarded to five Central Penn College students. Recipients of this scholarship must: --Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher --Be enrolled in a business major --Demonstrate leadership skills --Demonstrate commitment to community --Demonstrate the 3E's (energy, enthusiasm and excitement) Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to the upcoming term.
