Gradutates Receive Student Awards at Central Penn College's 143rd Commencement Ceremony

On Friday, May 2, 2025, Central Penn College celebrated it's 143rd Annual Commencement Ceremony at The Forum in Harrisburg, Pa. where five outstanding graduates were honored with student awards.

Central Penn College "Pins" 70 Students Who Are Prepared to Enter the Health Care Field

Seventy Central Penn College students training for careers as dental assistants, medical assistants, phlebotomists, surgical technologists, physical therapist assistants and occupational therapy assistants were formally "pinned" in an evening ceremony in the college's Conference Center. Hundreds of parents, grandparents, children, spouses and friends videotaped snippets on their cell phones, presented bouquets of flowers and cheered them on.

Central Penn College Homecoming Court King and Queen, Donations to Charity

Central Penn College donated $100 to the charity of choice of this year's Homecoming King and Queen. Josh Sooy and Gabriela "Gabby" Perez were crowned Homecoming Royals. Donations were made in Perez and Sooy's name to The Trevor Project (Perez) and Four Diamonds (Sooy). Homecoming Court for 2022 includes Jeana Lower, Briana Riley, Amber Funk and Brian Strawhacker.

Katt Fischer receives Central Penn College Health Sciences award

Central Penn College Health Sciences has announced its winter 2021 Perseverance and Leadership Awards. The Leadership Award was presented to medical assistant student Debra (Katt) Fischer, of Harrisburg, Pa. Her professor's nomination reads: "Katt Fischer is the president of Club M Ed. She is always leading the students in fundraisers and in the philanthropic projects of our group. "She has volunteered to help 'newer' students with venipunctures and studying for the phlebotomy exam. Katt is willing to help students study in any area of the phlebotomy or medical assisting programs. "A few years ago, she was in one of the plays with the theatre on campus. Her enthusiasm greatly supports the MA and phlebotomy programs and motivates students to participate."

Kayla Browning receives Central Penn College Health Sciences award

Central Penn College Health Sciences has announced its winter 2021 Perseverance and Leadership Awards. The Perseverance Award was presented to phlebotomy student Kayla Browning, of Lykens, Pa. Her professor's nomination reads: "Kayla Browning is in her third term of the phlebotomy program and has demonstrated that no matter what life throws in her path, she is going to keep on striving to succeed. "She has experienced numerous personal issues that have caused financial and emotional strain. Through it all, she has kept up with her school work doing a exemplary job on work submitted. "She continues to stay professional and demonstrates a positive attitude to her peers even during her recent struggles. Kayla communicates with her professors on a consistent basis to keep us update with challenges she faces. Kayla is determined to continue and finish the phlebotomy certificate so she can work in the field to provide for her children."
