Central Penn College Women's Volleyball Advances to ESAC Championship in First Season Back
Lady Knights make history with conference championship appearance following the relaunch of the women's volleyball program
Enola, PA (10/20/2026) — What a comeback season for Central Penn College Women's Volleyball!
After returning to competition following a lengthy hiatus, the Central Penn College women's volleyball team has earned a spot in the Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) Championship Game in its very first season back.
The Lady Knights will travel to Christendom College on Thursday, October 29, at 6 p.m. to compete for the conference title, marking a major milestone for a program that is just beginning to write its next chapter.
The achievement is especially meaningful considering that Central Penn's women's volleyball program had been inactive for several years before returning to the court in August 2026. With a newly assembled roster, the Lady Knights entered the season focused on rebuilding the program, establishing a competitive foundation and creating opportunities for student-athletes.
Now, just two months after returning to competition, they're playing for a conference championship.
A Season of Firsts and Milestones
Central Penn's return to women's volleyball has already produced several memorable moments.
On August 29, the Lady Knights celebrated their first victory in a decade, officially beginning a new chapter in the program's history.
On September 9, Central Penn hosted its first women's volleyball home game in 11 years, sweeping ESAC opponent Manor College in three sets (25-7, 25-5, 25-22). The match also served as a Gold Out event supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness, with concession proceeds benefiting cancer research.
The Lady Knights followed that performance with another 3-0 victory over Manor College on September 26, led by an impressive offensive performance from Austynn Wolf, who recorded 11 kills without an attack error. Andie Bevenour contributed 22 assists and five service aces in the victory.
The team's momentum continued into October, highlighted by a commanding three-set sweep of Penn State Lehigh Valley on October 13.
That match, held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, attracted a record crowd of more than 100 fans and featured a partnership with Pink Hands of Hope, a Mechanicsburg nonprofit supporting women affected by cancer.
Throughout the season, the Lady Knights have demonstrated that building a successful athletics program means more than winning games. Their commitment to community involvement, campus engagement and supporting fellow student-athletes has helped establish a foundation for the program's future.
Building Something Special at Central Penn
The championship appearance represents another exciting step in the continued growth of Central Penn College Athletics.
With a growing lineup of competitive programs, Central Penn is creating additional opportunities for student-athletes to pursue their athletic ambitions while earning a career-focused college education.
The women's volleyball program's immediate success demonstrates what is possible when student-athletes have the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
From celebrating the program's first victory in a decade to competing for an ESAC championship, the Lady Knights have given Central Penn students, alumni and the entire Knights Nation community plenty to celebrate.
And with the program still in its first season back, the future is full of opportunity.
