Andrew James named Central Penn College's Athlete of the Month

2017 Apr 5

Information technology student Andrew James, has been named the March Athlete of the month for Central Penn College. James is from Orbisonia, Pa., and attended Southern Huntington County High School. James started his college career at Shippensburg University before transferring to Central Penn. He has always loved sports and was a two-sport athlete in high school. James is now a part of the Central Penn intercollegiate baseball program.

"Playing baseball at Central Penn has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life," says James.

James has also loved coaching. He was an assistant coach this season for Southern Huntington County High School's men's basketball program. He also coaches a 14 and under travel basketball team. James plans on coaching after he graduates, which he plans to do after the fall term in 2017.

James has been a part of the intercollegiate baseball program for two years with the Knights. He has made the Dean's List consistently in that time.

James is seeking a job in his career field upon graduation. A big reason James came to Central Penn was his mother is an alumna. She graduated Central Penn in 1987.

"Whether it be on or off the field, we are placed in situations to be successful," says James. "This is mainly in part to the support we receive from the school and the community. This team is by far the most family-oriented team I have ever played for."
